One doesn't become an artist to make money. I own 4 pairs of shoes and I'm usually barefoot. There isn't anything that I want that I don't have except for a green thumb. I don't have much but I have enough. I'm happy chasing my shiny objects. When I die, I can't take my car with me, but I will leave thousands of cherished pieces of myself all over the world with hundreds of people, most of whom I have never met.
We artists create because we are compelled to follow our hearts and it is our nature to do what we want to do, when and how we want to do it. We find significance in the most mundane things and we feel stronger, deeper, and more intense than the others. Our gift is to help the others see and feel and dream color through the bleak gray fog of their lives, if only for a moment.

Follow your heart. Own your feelings. Nobody can take them from you. Regardless of the outcome, never regret. Close your eyes, plug your nose and jump. Nothing can be worse than screwing up something that could have been wonderful because you're afraid. When you have a choice, choose love.
