Ok, there are a few things...
First, the
contest deadline is April 1st and it's almost here. If you are working on your submission still please contact me via a note!
Second, according to the contest rules, there canNOT be any visible signs such as watermarks that would prevent me from sending the judges a clear anonymous copy of the deviation. You can sign your wonderful art after the contest.
Third, art is a personal thing. All of the submissions were wonderful. Therefore, I am not going to make the judges comments public. The only person who can view their own comments will be the artist and that is only if they request to view them.
Fourth, the judges are going to stay anonymous. Period.
Finally, if you don't see your submission in the file
roxanne74.deviantart.com/favou… NOTE me with the thumbnail! I have had about 3000 notes since the contest started and I want to make sure everyone gets their submissions entered.
And something else for you...I've been contacted by another publisher and a three time published author of children's books. I've checked on both and they are real. Both want to use my dolls as characters in childrens books. I'm not writing this as a yay me because to me, it seems like a four letter word...WORK! I am already discussing doing a book with a publisher. I have the attention span of a gnat so listening to anyone on the phone past hello is tedious.
If I approve of the story line(s) I will allow dolls I create to be used in the books. They found me. They want me to sculpt dolls for the books. Basically, I already have the job if I decided to take it. They seem to have characters and a basic story line already. But they don't have my dolls yet so they probably don't have an illustrator.
I have a meeting set up in April to meet with a publisher who is flying to Hawaii. I had planned on just taking a few sculpts and figuring out what they want me to do and if I want to do it. But I was thinking I might be able to help a few people out here in the process. If I get enough of contestants showing interest, I will put together a short portfolio consisting of photo representations (just like we did here in this contest) of my dolls, only with your names, websites and any other info you think is pertinent.
It could be a way to get the artwork done here in the right hands. If it sounds like something you are interested in NOTE me
.
This opportunity is only open to the people who participated in the contest and who actually made it through all the blah blah blah.
